    Symonds Yat west.

Very nice site with big pitches right in the forest. No caravans or motor homes ( large ) allowed due to restricted access .small shop on site selling food and gas .About 1.5 miles to pubs by the river Wye .Good area for cycling ( off road ) canoeing , walking ,rock climbing and bird watching from the top of Symonds yat rock.
crossing the river is by hand pulled ferry gor pedestrians and cycles

No ,depending on which side of the river you are,if your on the east side you go into the pub (Ye old ferry Inn ) and ask the barman to do it ,if your on the west side you wave at the pub until someone comes out and they come and get you

Nice area. Just got back from there and loved the off road cycling. Plenty of room to explore for a few days.
