Devon pop top seal

  1. Just in the middle of fixing up my pop top roof, it doesn't need a new canvas, I have done the t seal round the edge, and renewed all the pop rivets.
The seal for the flat section is like a windscreen seal with a fill strip, and is currently plain side up. Does it matter is the seal is fitted the other way up, as it will be so much easier to fit the trim, rather than work inside and outside of the poptop and also try to fit round the lid bolts.
It was leaking badly so just trying to make it watertight.
    Thank you.

  2. Some photos of what you mean may help.

I've got the Devon concertina style pop up.

If you post a photo I may be able to help

  3. Will do, thanks for the comment.

  4. IMG_0572.JPG I think I may have answered my own question, the seal is a lot deeper on the blank side, and thicker on the side the insert goes, so it would stick up higher and hold water more on the roof when parked on the flat.
So it looks like I'll have to try and fit the seal the same way up.
