Detox

  1. Been over indulging alot lately and im paying the price now by being far to over weight, looking over weight and feeling rough.

Apart from the obvious healthy eating and excercise what else do people suggest for body cleaning (detox), things to avoid and things to help.

    :)

  2. Detoxing is a bit overrated and dieting never ever works. You have to slowly change your lifestyle.
Unless you exercise you're really not going to lose any weight.
Unless of course you would like to try cocaine and cigarettes.
A sedentary lifestyle is more dangerous than being fat and active. You must get off your butt my friend. But it's worth it. A few walks around the park makes reaching for the telly remote so much easier.

Check out the documentary Fat, Sick And Nearly Dead. It is amazing. In short, this guy goes on a juice diet for 2 months and gets thin and healthy. Then every few months he does it again for a bit of maintenance.
This film inspired me to buy a juicer. After a week or two you feel so good all you want to do is keep going. And the next thing you know you're craving grapes instead of ice cream. I watched it on Netflix but I don't know if you have that there. If not, go to fatsickandnearlydead.com and buy the video. It's an awesome watch. You'll laugh, you'll cry and you will relate. It may very well change your life.

  3. I agree exercise is the way too I've just brought a bike so I can get healthier say that I did eat pizza last night but that's the last one I swear .

My advise is make it fun if you can that's why I've gone down the bike route as I've always enjoyed it .
If not you may become board and stop doing it ,if you know what I mean

  4. I now cycle everday and drink plenty of water feel loads better. Plus try to eat less junk as that helps

  6. carol vordaman does some weird detox diet thingy that Im sure will work to a point.. but also bring you the usual crashing headaches etc etc..

best advice has already been given dude.. dust off that bike and hit the road.. exercise and less crap food.. google GI foods as I find there really is something in the GI food and sustainability in your system making you fuller for longer..

    good luck :D

If it's any use I once saw a program where they detoxed a group of partying girls for a week. One half ate junk food, drank alcohol etc, the other group at organic food, and all things wholesome.

They measure toxin levels before and after. They was no real difference, some of the detoxers were higher than the 'bad' ones.

    I.e. don't bother :)

  9. I have been off the booze for 9 months and am beginning to get a bit thinner. My face is thinner for one.
Don't feel any better for it particularly though.

  15. Eat fresh, cut out tea and coffiee, drink lots of water up to 8 pints a day, don't over do red meat, exercise swimming is best, bike riding, don't do static weights use free weights as they don't pull you about as much, but don't live like a slave to it, treats are aloud but don't over do it. Good luck. :)

  16. Fill your face with whatever you want
As long as you keep hydrated and exercise enough to use up the calories you have consumed youll be fine

  19. Due to my extra ciricular activities I have to lead a healthy lifestyle, but that doesnt mean I dont indulge in some of the finer things in life (wine and the occasional curry/naughty food normally at a TLB meetup) but I make sure I earn my weekend treat by being good all week food wise followed up by excercise. The key to loosing weight is to burn off more than you eat.

    Fibre for breakfast

    Carbs cut off for lunch

Protein in the evening (not too late, eat as early as possible)

I can never understand people who skip breakfast, have a small lunch and a massive dinner -

What excercise do people do after a huge meal in the evening? none, it just becomes stored energy i.e. body fat.

Get your food inyou early in the day and you will burn it off naturally and have more energy.

detox by drinking lots of water a day. simples
