    So here's the thing ...
Since having found myself with LHD tintops when originally the whole idea was to have a camper with a poptop, I've been mulling over design ideas for the tintopper's add-on space.
If there's no "market" because everyone is happily toting khyams and the like I'll just do a one-off for us and leave it at that ... If there IS a market I'd keep costs mind, which could change the design .....
This isn't just the old tent out the tailgate ... much more "cool" and "swish"
    :)
    Sorry, no design clues yet!

    Roof tent.
    Job jobbed.

  3. Don't chop your roof out. It's wrong.

  4. Agreed - it`ll be just another `pop top `

    :hattip:

  5. Yes don't do it when you could have a T25 Gypsy

This doesn't involve cutting any holes
Question is about whether tin toppers would go for something that only goes on/in the van for camping trips ...

  8. Following with interest although not sure what's being asked

  9. You could cut a hole in the floor. That would increase headroom

NO! No holes!! The design is on the way ... Think I'll just make my own and wait for the queue to form

  11. If you're carting bridesmaids around, that's going to lower the floor by a good two inches. Winner

 ... asking whether there's a market for a good design of add-on for a tin top that doesn't involve chopping holes, faffing about with gurt big awnings etc ...

I think I understand the question!! And it immediately has me thinking :)

There’s that fold out roof tent jobbie that’s mounted to splits and beetles...

it just needs drop down flaps:

    Which seems to exist...

But it all needs mounting sideways over the slider.

When do I collect my cut of the profits?

Nah sorry no profit cut ... They're all "shonky" :D
Thanks for doing some research though:thumbsup:

  19. Something that dosnt touch the ground so dont have to pay extra pitch fees!
I like the idea of the rear hatch bed idea if quick to put up.

Could you not just weld two vertical RSJs to the roof and have a hammock up there?
