Deluxe bumper trim. VW Heritage. £75.55. 9/10

Not being the best at parking and needing to protect ones insurance l opted to fit the luxurious rubber trim to my bumpers. The items themselves are quite vast when held in your hand and it does help to have an extra pair of hands when fitting. That said l did manage to fit them on my own.

The rear was the hardest to fit. Because of the shape of the bumper it doesn't seem to fit tight along the main straight part. However my bumper is somewhat dented so this may have something to do with it. That said however it does fit and hasn't fallen off.

The front was a little problematic because l tightened the screws up a little too tight on one end and broke the welds on the metal band inside. A simple fix was sought with 3 small nuts and bolts that are then hidden behind the plastic end caps.

No fitting instructions came with them (I'm sensing that the VW enthusiast does not need instructions in life) but l would recommend that when you tighten the nuts up you turn them about 3 turns on each end until it feels tight and then tighten no more. One thing you will notice when you fit them is that it looks like they have short changed you with the amount of rubber. It soon becomes clear why when you tighten it up.

The front is far easer to fit. The rear is a real pain in the rear :)

Best advice I can offer is have a second pair of hands so that you can tighten it up a turn at a time on each end. It might also help to use some evo stick impact adhesive or anyother such glue that allows you to reposition.

You shouldn't need glue and it should fit ok of unlike mine you don't have a dented bumper. But the glue may just help.
