Evening all, After a gap of a few years we have purchased another Late Bay and are still evidently unable to spot a rotbox when we see one Dexter is now in the garage down the road having 38 years of filler ground out. Happy days. Would love to know about meets and events in the local area and further afield for this summer More pressingly....if anyone has a right side (Vented) rear corner panel going I would be very appreciative as they are nearly 250 quid on JK which came as a shock. Thanks in advance to anyone who can point me in a cheaper direction
Hi from just up the road in sunny Bradford . Which garage you using? I usually go to VW Restorations on Gibbet Lane.
Wow, thanks for all the replies! Lost-en-France my wife watched that scene from just outside her work and yes...Sowerby Bridge is that bleak. Thanks also to Flakey, Mork and Phooey Jack: I'm using my mates Mick and Kaley at His n Hers in Hipperholme. He knows his way around Bugs, Buses and Ratties so it's in good hands. I had a trip up to Gibbet St but if i was looking at anything like a full resto I was told the wait would be a couple of years! Mick has promised me to have it up and running ready to go to the Alps in April and true to his word he has cracked on. At least he had until i realised the back panel has just eaten up some of my snowboarding euros :/
@Dexter, never heard of His n Hers before, but Hipperholme is close too. Tbh never used Richards place for major resto, but go there at MOT time
Hi Dexter, looking forward to hearing how your van comes on. Ambitious schedule, but sounds like you have experience and good mates on your side. All the best mate. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
A few of you will have had a wry smile at my schedule. True to the Dub law of "You want it when?" the bay still isn't painted, needs a service and MOT and is supposed to be getting me and the family to the Swiss border in 13 days. Plus, my latest snowboard jaunt to the south of France first week in March lasted thirty minutes before I broke a collar bone and chipped my shoulder. Therefore this time round I will have to drive a thousand miles in pain with no power steering up mountains just to watch!! A part of me doesn't want it to be ready LOL
Good point Art. Will see if I can work out how to post a pictorial reference to my physical and financial pain and suffering for you enjoyment
