WANTED decent mig welder

  1. im looking for a better mig welder ,
    i have a sip 130 ,
    but i feel like a need to buy something a bit more professional...:thinking:

    has anyone got a mid-range single phase welder they no longer require somewhere near the centre of the country 90 miles from npton , and at a reasonable price ..300-500 bucks

    i got an older murex 200 240v ..£200

    its a lot bigger than it looked on the tinterweb...:eek: 26'' tall

  5. it came from a welding shop in brum,
    they had it, but for the amount they do they upgraded all the units to 3 phase 415

    im gonna have to find out about some of the settings....:confused:
    and it needs a good clean out inside :gnome:

  6. I have been having a bit of a play with my welder ,


    I have welded my American car before , but that was quite thick steel and not really so rusty..


    I got a pair of heat exchangers that had a couple of holes in and welded a couple of patches onto them,

    The steel on the h/x is quite thin with a fair bit of rust and pitting,


    I started with this likkle hole, decided to make a patch onto the fixing strap

    tacked it in place ,,

    some bits had to be welded with lots of blobs …


    then when there was new metal there I could run better beads on top ..

  7. then started on this other bigger hole

    I dished the surrounding area ..gently...:confused:


    Then shaped a piece and tacked it in

    I fould a couple of thin areas so tacked small plates on to them

    I have almost finished the gringing and cleaning up, and the repairs look good,

    I have spent around an hr on this and have learnt a lot about my welder settings and welding rusty thin metal

    i will post piccy of the finished articles ...when i have finished :D
