  1. I'm looking for an alternative for Genie Backup Manager Pro as it doesn't want to work on my PC and wondered what you guys use and what you would recommend?

  2. Birdy

Not sure but l use Time machine on the mac. proved useful but a pain as it checks and updates so often.

Keep me posted as to the outcome because we need a new system for the files in the garage.

  3. I have 2 other hard drives each larger than my laptop HD and I back up all data I can't live without everytime I upload new pics / vids / stuff I need, both of these other HD's are both the same exact back ups, so a back up of a back up.............better safe than sorry eh

  4. Anything tlb server doesn't use. Lol

    :Insert evil smiley here:

  5. SyncToy. Backup to a memory stick, also so I have everything with me in case I need it.

  6.
  7. All my crucial stuff I throw onto two NAS's (Network Accesible Drives) which are dual discs setup as RAID 1 which means one drive mirrors the other automatically.
I've got about a terrabyte of movies and music so off site backup isnt really practical for the media stuff.
Small critical stuff I email to myself on my google account so acts like an on site backup.
I should really setup a few backup scripts and move more stuff off site I suppose....
Bookmarks and settings for my browser are backed uop and mirrored across all my laptops using Firefox's built in Sync (excelent)

A really good backup scheduling solution is Rsync. originated as a Linux Unix tool but is now available on windows:
