Dark Star Brewery Tour - Sussex - 13 April 2013

Discussion in 'Shows Events You've Missed unless you went' started by marowak, Oct 12, 2012.

  1. Following the exceptional Hogs Back Brewery Tour of 2012 organised by Mike - I am looking to organise another tour for 2013.

I have been in contact with DARK STAR BREWERY and tentatively made a booking for Sat 13th April 2013.
    http://darkstarbrewing.co.uk/visits

The brewery is in Partride Green, West Sussex and I am proposing we camp at Blacklands farm in Henfield.

I need to contact the campsite re a group booking but the important bit (the tour) is in motion.

Same deal as last time ... we find people willing to give us a lift to >> from the brewery and then camp over night.

If you are interested add your names below and I will keep this thread up to date with details / costs / bookings etc.

  9. INFO INNIT .............

To book a visit just e-mail me with the number of people involved (any from 1 to a maximum of 20), your preferred date, and a contact number. If we are unable to offer the date you prefer I will advise you of the nearest alternatives. Due to the popularity of the tours they are oversubscribed so it is isn’t possible to turn up on a Saturday and to get on a tour by chance.

    • The tours are held on most Saturdays and start at 11am. They last for an hour or more depending upon how reluctant visitors are to leave the smells and tastes of the brewery. However, it’s easy for anyone to leave at any time if they need to.

    • The tours are free as is the beer offered during your visit. However, there is a charity box in the brewery shop should anyone wish to make a voluntary donation. You can purchase take-home draught and bottled beer at brewery prices from the shop, as well as a good range of t-shirts, polo shirts, rugby shirts, hoodies and other branded goods.

    • There is ample free parking at the brewery.

    • Most of our visitors go across to our very hospitable pub near the brewery, The Partridge, for a spot of lovely home-cooked lunch or snacks following the visit. If you’d like to find out more just call Vicki or Rob, the managers, on 01403 710391.
(I should add that although everything else is free, the lunch isn’t!)

  15. A review from the Homebrew Forum:

I did a brewery tour with a group in the summer. They are super relaxed people and very open with the brewery. They let us walk around and look at everything and the brewer was a very cool dude who answered all questions. They also plied us with copious amounts of everything they had which was nice. When we left we were all given a 12 pack of experimental bottles of HopHead each to take home and asked to provide feedback as they were thinking about releasing it. Awesome brewery and awesome people...

    Now I am definitely going.

  16. i will pull my finger out a bit more in Jan 13 about finalising numbers and booking campsites etc ... :)
