Daisy 1973 full resto "5 years on"

  1. Actually made a start now been busy with family stuff recently but now stripped daisy and had a dog around the bad areas to see how bad it is and to be honest it ain't that bad a few small patches but nothing to bad bar arches which I knew was bad !! [​IMG]
    Was a cold start

    A lot of sand in last 5 years

    Well mouldy from an old leak so that's in the bin

    The chat I payed to restore it last time just filled over a rust hole [​IMG][​IMG]
    Stretched the beetle tent but she just fits in just waiting on a genuine arch and sill to be delivered this week and will be chopping the old lot out now it's ready !!

    The window seals are all good as new any one know of a way to remove windows without trashing seals ?

  4. My passenger side one was like that, in fact worse, but I have re-built it with fibreglass for the time being pending having a proper restoration.... Definitely one place to spend the money on decent quality.

    Window seals aren’t to tricky to get out, you need a couple of screwdrivers, lift the lip all the way round in the inside to free it off, then get the screwdriver and lift the lip of the seal abs tuck it behind the metal lip, the first couple of inches are the hard bit after that it’s easy , 5-10 mins a window
