  1. Nice job. Is the fluid transmision or is that from cleaning it?

  2. what did the other two that you didn't replace look like? is it worth maybe doing them now while you are at it?

yeah, i dunno why but i figured as the outers had failed quicker than the inners i'd put the worst 2 on the outers and then change them next time - if that makes any sense?

  6. Just keep an eye on the tightness of those bolts untill you get the correct sized bit and a torque wrench dude as a drive shaft dropping off is no fun

i know - i'm going to try and get one tomorrow but to be fair 40 is to small and 45 is too big..... maybe my torx set is just worn? in fairness some of the ones i took off weren't very tight so i reckon i've been lucky.

Are you mixing your Torx, spline and star bits, because they're not the same.

god knows..... i'll take a bolt that isn't damaged to halfrauds and get a decent fit

I'll have a look later and see what bit I used, were Torx even invented when these buses were built?

true.... thinking on it there's a lot more flanges inside the bolts than is on torx.....

Spline on left Torx on right, I used the M8 spline on the left. Well it has an 8 on it anyway. :)

  13. Will double check on mine as its up in the air at the moment. Pretty sure it is spline drive not torx as vw have used them on their drive shafts for years

  14. They are spline drive however some of the aftermarket bolts had hex heads

ahhh! yes it's spline and i used torx - thought it was a bit loose..... so i need to buy a M8 spline tomorrow.

  17. You do need a spline drive - torx will knacker the bolt heads

i think i've done a few of the new ones...... i reckon i've enough of the old ones that are good though - will get a spline drive tomoz.

  19. Oldies should be ok if you clean them up. Some may be allen-head from years gone by. Torx are rounded-ish to do what they need to do.
