Hi all Brand new to bays, always wanted one and as a young boy (Now 40) always wanted to be a mechanic but life turned out different and just now I work off shore but hoping to change that and get into restorations hence buying a 1974 bay which needs a lot of work especially welding. Luckily through my job I have learned to weld tig, mig, gas and stick so shouldn't have any problems there. I'm sure it will be a learning experience but that's half the fun. Unsure wether I will keep this one or sell it, time will tell but if I sell it I will be buying another to keep for myself. Really like the idea of bringing "cuthbert" back to life and will be posting pics etc all the way through. Unfortunately I'm still 2 weeks away from starting due to being off shore at present so doing as much research as possible just now. Can't seem to figure out how to upload pics file too big as they are all about 5mb. Thanks for reading and hope you enjoy the project when it's under way.
Thanks for the help I will try that once I have put the photos onto Facebook as don't really use it much. Tried to upload straight from phone but file way too big, guess that's the problem with all this new technology and phone's trying to be cameras
On facebook right click on the photo and select copy image address, then on here click the icon with the mountain and paste the address into it.
That's what I thought until I looked underneath and chassis is rotten. First job will be to strip paint off to see exactly what I'm dealing with. Tbh it doesn't worry me as the more I do the more satisfaction I will get from saving him
I will take photos of underneath and all problems as soon as home unfortunately I got Cuthbert on a Wednesday and away to work on the thursday
Welcome to the mad house ,don't know how to tell you this but while you was away someone pinched your windscreen and lights
