Was the neatest think to go to keep it from looking awful the blaster was a bit harsh with it mind but I’ll hide the tiny pin holes here and there Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Well it’s running fired up after few turns with not throttle I’ll take that runs sweet again now for a few guns and carlings and to order next lot of parts ect and do the finishing touches to the rear xxx Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Note to self when ur van is now well low aired out be careful drilling through arch’s at rear to fix bed as ur tyres are well close now pop ssssssssssssssssss oops Luckily I did have x2 spares I got last year new ones will get it changed tomorrow Engine all done now new larger tank came today that’s fitted man box it in to still have some storage but old one just wasn’t big enough tbh this 4gallon 1 will do the trick Starting beam raise Thursday Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Busy day been raise done now to re route cables to make it all work gear linkage mod ect 50 mm raise These are my shock relocation brackets to make air shocks run straight and gives more lift should get about 5 inches of travel Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
FFS Simon that's a great job you're doing on Daisy, a ridiculous amount of work! Can't wait to see it in action at Techenders.
Beam back in all 4 corners now on air happy with the font height had to mod the beam to get better lift will finish it when I remove beam to plate chassis Decent ride height still front can’t go down more than rear but be close as beam will hit floor Still a lot of work to do All cables clutch exelerator ect all re routed and gear linkage bent up over the beam (this took ages ) bit stiffer gears but will play with that after Iv driven it only front rod Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Front mock up done steering arm notch done should go 2” lower than this photo is room on shocks steering arms was stopping it allso started making notch plates ready to weld in early start in morning Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Welded all notches up then made my bean and adjustable air beam 1 bolt moves shock mount , so I can set my ride height depending on load ect as the rear bags have way more travel and it’s nice to have a choice Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Air shocks lift off the spigot and bolt that’s how they work gonna get some good bolts I have left the springs so at the bottom it falls into the springs Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Great work ! Looks like its going well. Do you have to run a lot more pressure in the front air shocks than with the rear bags because the bags have a bigger area ? If the shocks have a piston area of say 10 square cm then to lift 100 kg you need about 10 bar. I know you dont need all the force because you still have springs... At the back with the bigger area of bags, the same pressure might lift 500kg or do damage with 50 square centimetres.. Maybe need a pressure regulator on the bags to avoid rapid unintended disassembly, to quote Elon Musk.. And maybe that is why I have seen one front beam where the torsion springs were lifted by airbags like the rear, effectively turning the lowering adjuster .
Yes Iv got the rear torsion bars wound up to just off floor bags takes 2.2tons take about 140psi to nice ride height and the front is less but there all on individual air paddle switches and x2 duel air guages as 1 side will need more air as all cupboards full of carling ect so can set up custom to suit allso front leaves will b on top tube constantly and Iv re inforced spigots as much as possible threads welded inside bean front and back allso Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I have got a spare 25L air compressor air receiver kicking around.. bought two broken compressors, made one good one .. for the price of a new one..
Iv got a 4gallon tank under seat mate new and new compressor should be ok cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Beam all in and painted up live the ride height and aired out on the deck Got shocks bolted i with super strong bolts and spaced so shocks lift level brake lines tomorrow and gear linkage by weekend should have tubs tacked in and ready to drive next week Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
