Hi all, We are slowly getting to the stage of doing the fun bits of the interior and one of those things is the curtains. The problem is, we can't decide upon whether to have the curtain pattern facing in or out of the van. We like the look when you can see the pattern in the windows from the outside but are slightly concerned with them fading. Have any of you got any tips for stopping (or at least slowing) fading? The other option is to have them facing inwards which will brighten the interior a bit. The ideal would be to have the pattern on both sides but this is not an option due to the cost :-( What have you guys done? Pics always help Matt
ive gone the other way pattern out and had them lined by a seamstris on the inside sorry can not up load pics as i am pc idiot But Like ricky said it makes more sence the other Way
Lining out, pattern in for me - mainly because I realised that I'm the one who has to look at the curtains all of the time, not the people on the outside who see it less often!
Double sided pattern with blackout lining in between if you want to be really posh. Looks quality and keeps the pesky early morning sun out.
we're pattern out ... sorry no we're not we're pattern in. the only window where the pattern faces out is that behind the Westy wardrobe, which you cant see from inside.
Weve got ours facing out, got decent lining on them so all looks fine on the inside Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
I'm going time double mine. But cost is my issue too. I like to see the pattern facing out but I want to see it inside as well.
It's your bus so you can put them whichever way you prefer. These are ours and we put pattern in as that's the same as our house. We paid for the pattern so we want to see it
I am not going for curtains after all that, I have other plans .........................and when I make them will post them up here for all to laught and jeer at
in. printed cotton patterns will fade in the sun and not evenly. the lining facing out is usually plain white or cream, therefore the fading isn't as noticeable. saying that, different fabrics behave differently to sun bleaching such as wools and linens so if you get a woven patterned fabric the pattern will be on both sides anyway. i don't understand the whole blackout lining thing - when camping i like to get up with the sun
