  3. So does my dad & he definitely ain’t posh. Weirdly saw some at tesco yesterday, same as a crumpet but thinner

    Crumpet/ pikelets always thought that they were the same, just regional name difference.
    It's only since the big companies started making them that the name appears to have been "standardised " as crumpet .
    Whatever you call them the thickness is in direct relationship to the price....unless they come from Waitrose when they will be thin and expensive.
