Cleaning headlining

  1. hiya

Need some advice.. Our headlining is good but stained all around the edges, (we think its the glue coming through) Any ideas of how we can clean this??? We don't really want to fork out to have a new lining put in.

We would put photos up but for sme reason we are having trouble attaching pics

    Cheers guys

  2. Likely to be grime - the glue set years ago.

Try something like Cillit Bang (honest), or failing that, the cleaner they use for upvc window frames. Can be quite hard to clean the headling as it can discolour over the years.

  3. Cheers for that will give it a go, and let you know how we get on,

  4. A moister spunch and jif

  5. cream cleaner (cif or jif or whatever its called these days?) is great for cleaning roof liners and sunvisors

  6. if its the vinyl type and not flocked then white spirit will do it. as always test any harsh cleaner on a small area first

  11. Mr muscle. I used the oven cleaner. Really strong stuff.

Wear some gloves and do not leave it to set for to long. This is powerful stuff.

    Good luck

  12. I had a similar problem and no amount of mr muscle, sugar soap, Goo Gone, UPVC cleaner or white spirit would get rid of it. So I bit the bullet and sprayed my rear headliner with Plastikote antique white Matt Super yesterday (£4.99 a can x 2 cans) and its looks proper good this morning now I've removed the masking tape and newspaper - well happy - sorry no pics, too dark and rainy to see
