IMG_4602.JPG So the flapper box needs a new foam seal to stop it clanking when it's flapping!

And then on with getting the BA6 back together

But I need to get this interior finished and reinstalled. So the floor needs sorting first. Carboard template and then a 9mm later followed by a 4mmish top layer

NLaVW sell it too Clive, I bought one from them. I found it needed trimming on the shallow lip to get it to fit without breaking a bit off it.
The four screws held it fine once I did that trim & drilled the holes!

I’ve took the R&R bed apart ready to repair it and recover with the blue Westy material. The laminate needs replacing but I’m unsure whether to use the Hole for the US electrics with a UK set up or patch it up and fit the consumer unit under the seat ADDACEC9-FF64-4FE7-A640-7ABD4DCF9E96.jpeg 9CB12B1F-323B-4944-B09F-3057D05EE818.jpeg

I bought some repop trim panels from the lovely Adam at NLAVW. But even tho they have been stored flat in our dehumidified garage they have slightly warped so I’ve laid a couple of coats of exterior varnish down on the backs to try to stop it causing any problems. Hopefully when I fix them in place they should pull flat. 547CF20C-5DE5-45B8-8F2B-034F7280D39F.jpeg

I’ve stripped of the Formica from the front and made up a filler piece for where the old US electrics were. Now I know the patch doesn’t match but rather than make a complete new front piece I thought that if it needed to be returned back to stock it would be an easier job! I’ve sanded down the interior and managed to get rid of most of the staining but not all. So I’ll probably line the inside with some carpet. But first, a couple of coats of varnish. 724584CF-29CC-4A07-9B5C-32D01B16366B.jpeg And now to carpet! As you all probably know the westfalia Berlin With taiga green paint should have a green plaid interior complete with green carpet. That green carpet is difficult to source and we have been looking for a while. Adam at NLAVW did hint that he may well reproduce them but I can’t wait any longer! Cos we have already made a change to the blue westy seat fabric I guessed it doesn’t really matter what we fit so a quick google and a few clicks later we have a decent enough green carpet and I can get on! It’s darker than the original but not too bad and should wear well and hide the kids muddy feet ok! Here’s a quick pic showing it roughly rolled out

Haha! My missus loves it too! it is the original colour on the Vw birth certificate but I wasn’t that keen at first and we had to have a poll amongst all our friends on Facebook to decide. Lemon yellow came out tops. When my mate Paul laid on the top coats he called me to say it was the gayest colour ever! I have grown to love it and in fact I’m going to order a bright yellow scarf to wear when driving it!
