Car went pop

my van did the same thing now it looks like this

 

If you heard a pop and not a snap or a crackle, then I would definitely say it’s the rice krispie valve!

did you refill your pipe and adjust your flat cap ?

 

So...I can see the belt and it spins I’m turn with the starter, I can’t pull it off the top pulley so assume it’s under load.

Weirdly the starter was much slower today but later went all fast.

Last time I had the an Audi simply died on me and that was injector harness.

Would fuelling cause variance in compression in a diesel...ie if it’s absent or not?
