Can't believe how many there are in Cornwall and Devon!

  1. Been in Cornwall and Devon for the last four days and I can't quite get my head round how many other VW vans are around!

    Don't think I have ever flashed my lights and waved as much ever!

    Loving it, that's all!

    Over a week to go down here!

    Done the reversing half a mile up a road with rocks on both sides up hill because an artic is coming up the hill bit yet? Best done in north Devon .

    Good road near Hartland Point (Scene of Top Gear motor caravan "no handbrake" incident.) When we visited there was still bits of white stuff on the beach where it landed.

    We were there 2 weeks back had pretty good weather but very windy ...there's always more VW 's down there in holiday time . Didn't see many when we were there . We saw a ratted t25 4 wheel drive elevated crew cab at Perranporth on a back street just off the beach .

    Lovely day for it.

    They must have all come from Yorkshire as there's none up here!

  15. I'm in Cornwall and havnt seen none.

    Mind you I am in the middle off nowhere Nr Lanreath and I haven't left the place where our lodge is too. It's so quiet.

    We might venture out tomorrow. We are running out off food.

    I'm in my silver T5 builders van so if I flash and wave don't look at me like I'm a weirdo. I am normal I can't help it if I drive a T5.

  17. Went to Newquay last weekend (in a ford mini bus) for my son's stag do and saw many bays on the road and some great splitty's but not one beetle, hundreds of T4/5 and a few t25's. The shops in Newquay were full of campervan tat and a late bay selling ice lollies etc.

  18. I was at a local car gathering and asked some bus owners;

    Do you use it much - yeah of course I went to Cornwall twice last year!

    Do you go far in your bus- yeah of course we take it to Cornwall!

    I must go and see this magical place for myself now the migrants have taken over the channel crossings :D
