  1. hi, my insurance for the bug and bus is about to run out. both currently with heritage. last year was the only tear that my fully comp insurance didn't cover me to drive other cars (useful when i need to use my brother's car to pick up parts for a poorly bug).
have they all stopped this? also, any reccomendations for insurer as i believe there are only a couple of companies since they merged/took pover??
    thanks,
    lisa

  2. I got mine through Adrian Flux £219 for a limited 5,000 miles per year + Agreed Valuation of £12,500 (Still waiting for confirmation).

  3. I'm with cherished who are a sponsor on here, not had to claim and hope I never have to, but for the premium they seem very good value for money, not sure about the driving other cars point though.
£131 fully comp, guaranteed valuation of 13k, now risen to 15k, limited mileage of 5000 miles with EU breakdown cover for free

  4. i am with Peter Best - £130 for the year ... limited 5k miles ...

  6. Peter James £200 agreed value no mileage limit - euro and breakdown cover included - sorted 8)

  7. wow, thanks! a couple of companies i've never heard of and ti thought that over the years i'd been around them all! :)

  8. why are insurance companies closed on a staurday?? :'(

i can't call durng their working hours, because they are MY working hours.
    bum.

RH used to be really good. My renewal went up almost 50% though so I went elsewhere.

  12. cherished. Just had a quote to add a second van + £71
    ;D

  13. i change mine every year as you can usually find a cheaper like for like quote. it's a pain in the bum calling around, but worth it. although, heritage are pretty good renewals, but it's still worth a try :)

  15. cherished unable to insure my van :( due to value (11,000) and the fact that it's kept on the road. I live in a terrace and don't have any other option (v few garages where i live and think you have to be born in one) :(

Doesn't sound right to me. I can't believe everyone on here who's insured with them has a garage?

  17. I'm with Cheshire too they rang me up today as the insurance on the bus ( that don't move ) is 7 pound more than last year its 305 fully comp with 5000 miles and only agreed value of 4000 , seems abit much

  18. OH MY! it pays to shop around.

today i've been refused insurance on the camper due to it being kept on a public road (RH, Cherish, heritage), because it hasn't got a tap (footman james), and flux was coming in at silly money.

I suspect there is a 10,000 value ceiling if it's on the road.

THEN, i called Pater James (as rec here). They are wonderful!

for me, dad, brother & sister in law, unlimited mileage, 11,000 value, uk & european breakdown, euro insurance, agreed valuation, and able to drive other cars under certain circumstances £249.82 (HIC came in at £276 without benefits).

It then got better... if i insure my bug on the same policy, same drivers and benefits etc (my brother'll be pleased he HATES driving the bug!) it gets cheaper and BOTH will cost £301.37 for the year!!

    v happy bunny!!!

  19. the others won't let you be insured for parking on the street because you live in Scunthorpe. You may as well have told them you park it on the street in Tripoli.

They also know you are lying about the value of your van - if it was really worth £11k you wouldn't live in Scunthorpe as only people who don't live in Scunthorpe can afford cars of this value, or, if you did live in Scunthorpe and the van really is worth £11k it would have been nicked by now. I'm glad you found an insurer who believe your lies though
    ;D
