Camper & Bus, Guildford to Bournemouth

  1. Thanks really helpful

  2. This would imply you haven't got the posted details with the tickets (actually a plaque for the van)? If that's the case then get on to them quick as they're very clear - no plaque no entry to he seafront. Mine came through mid last week so you should have yours by now.......

  3. I only ordered them yesterday!?!! Uh oh!! Surely they wouldn't let you buy the tickets if theyes couldn't gst them to u in time???

What time does everyone disappear on the Sunday? I am hoping to make it down in the afternoon just to have a good-ol' nose at everyone's bus!

  7. Well you can't "escape" until 5pm as the gates are closed and no traffic movement is allowed once we are all in, should I make it that is.

  8. Regards the comments about wanting to get on the front without having done the Cruise,I think the lesson they are trying to learn from is the farce that happens at Brighton Breeze. Here and there , the point is being on the cruise and appearing on the seafront together. But what happens at BB is that by the time the cruise gets to the seafront, it is already full of people just turning up and parking.

This is a cruise that ends at Bournemouth seafront not a VW car park for all that want to park up.

Sorry to sound so pushy but i think they have got it right, unlike Brighton Breeze.

  9. Yeah but I'm not asking for a cruize plaque or goody bag, I just want to park my van on the seafront and add to the what will be an impressive display of VW's, rather than driving my van down and parking it 100 yards away in a car park...

I get the point of the probelms at BB, but surely the idea is to enjoy and celebrate all things VW.

  10. Hi Mad, I agree with your point. So maybe the answer is that the seafront should be closed off until the cruises have arrived, then whatever space is left can be taken by those not cruising.

200 vans booked on the cruise apparently, so dont know how much space will be left !

Alternative is, drive up to Guildford and join the cruise or join it on the way down, either way you will need the plaque to get onto the front

    Cheers

I totally agree about the plaque rule. As with BB they don't guarantee that you will have a space even though you've paid for it.

  12. Getting excited now first one I've been to besides a little show in Essex

  13. The cruise at Brighton Breeze isn't so much a cruise, more like a race to get down to Madeira Drive before all the spaces are taken. I remember the one year we actually followed the cruise route, we were being overtaken by others along the route trying to get down to Brighton quickly.

A race is a bit of an exaggeration  but I remember doing that one year. Shot past all these bus at 70. I was going so fast the photographer wasn't able to snap me going past.

  15. Is the route; A31, M3, M27 then A31, or does it follow smaller roads?

  16. Think the route is on the C&B website. I'm sure I saw it there somewhere, maybe a location link on the cruise page.

  18. Thanks MF, I didn't see that. However it doesn't say what the route is after Winchester, just some minor roads through the New Forest. We'll have to keep close behind someone.

I will be camping overnight in the Ashurst camp site in the new forest. If someone can let me know which route you will take when you get your destructions, I would love to see you all go past on Sunday morning :)

  20. I have a ticket/plaque for free if any one wants it and can pick up from Reigate, as we never got the bus running in time :-/
