Do they take much fettling ?

Camels are actually quite robust. Single-humpers are best.

 

I'm not sure if humping and camels should be mentioned in the same thread.

 

What about hump quality - are they as good as the other twin hump (splitty) type?

If you head down the 303 to Cornwall you’ll pass West Camel. But more critically, also Queen Camel. This is the most senior member of the camels.

 

If you carry on further West into Cornwall you'll eventually discover Indian Queens.
