Buttercup is going for her restoration this week

Discussion in 'Restorations' started by ButtercupBus, Oct 10, 2011.

  1. Super excited. I have a new camper that is being restored, and she goes to the bodyshop this week. It is a T2 bay, and needs a new front panel, new driver door, work on the wheel arches, a new dash board, removal of a horrible air vent at the side (random!) and a good paint job. ... after all that is done, going to start looking at the interior, which is currently an empty shell.

  2. Sounds great. Will you be updating the thread with piccies? ;)

  10. Cheers me dears! Right... gonna get this set up and will keep you in suspense until tomorrow, when I'll get a pic of this ugly duckling uploaded!!!

  11. Looking forward to the pics dude

  12. OK, let's see if this works....
As you can see, the old girl is a tasty orange, black and maroon. She has a "Big Boys Toys" sticker on the bum, and although you can't see it in the picture, has lots of rust on the wheel arches and front panel and cab doors. She also leaks on the passenger side. As you can see, the inside is currenly a junk yard and holds a spare door and new front dash board which needs fitting along with a detached full R&R bed which needs covering.
Good points - she has a new gear box, a sound engine and hilariously central locking with an alarm!!!

She is getting the bodywork sorted ready for end of Dec, and will be painted pale yellow and white (to appeal to our wedding customers!). On the inside, I will have a full width R&R bed, and am looking to get a single kitchen unit which somehow will detach and clip back in place. Has anyone had one of these fitted before? I am thinking of getting a carpenter to make one as the purchased ones are coming in at over £600 with unit.... Not worked out how to do the "detachable" bit yet... I guess this all comes after the bodywork, and when I can see how manyh pennies are left in the funds!!!

  13. Looks a good base dude i wish you the best of luck with it
