Bulkhead removal

Discussion in 'Restorations' started by physiopro, Jun 5, 2012.

  1. I want to put captains chairs in Myvanwy! I have two old westvalia seats and two mechanisms to put them on but obviously need to remove the bulkheads! Anybody done this or know if and how I can strengthen so it is ok to do or is it ok to just cut them out and tidy it up?
    Cheers

Type in "Bulkhead" in the search box and you'll find a lot of threads on this. Some think it's ok. Some think it's not.

VW did it so I say it's ok to chop them out.

  3. Thanks birdy!

Moons it's not my bus. That's BriandSi's Jaffa Cake.

Speaking of others buses I also noted Bettybay 79 Tin top in the resto section also has no bulkheads. Seems it was more an American thing to do.
