Now I need a 3.5mm Allan key to get the ignition switch out- go to tool box with fancy long reach Allan keys and guess what ??!! We have a 3mm & 4mm ah well back to the local chinnon wine
When my switch died I pulled the plug of the bottom plugged the new switch in and used a flat bladed screwdriver to turn the switch. I drove round for the best part of a year like that Just don't forget you still need the key in the ignition barrel for the steering lock Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I crashed a car like that while I was in the RAF. Being all cocky I got a bit of speed up and popped it into neutral, switched off the engine and started to coast into a parking space....... ......it was as I turned the wheel I heard the "click" of the steering lock engaging..... .....just after that I realised that without the engine I didn't have assisted brakes and by the time my little brain has processed all that I'd hit my mates car. Edit: just read that back and I'd forgotten to add that I'd taken the keys out of the ignition as well and put them in my pocket.
Pull plug off bottom of switch and fit new switch to it, then use it like @paradox said. As an additional security measure take it with you when you are away from the bus.
Our old bay once you'd started it you could take keys out and carry on as we found out one day when they jumped out on their own. Sent from my SM-T800 using Tapatalk
