Brighton Breeze 2016

  1. yes, aren't they lovely cars. I was parked opposite the B reg 1964 car Karmann, lovely owners, they said they have a late Bay as well. As usual there were great friendly folks at the event and I met a few other old farts like me, trying to grow old disgracefully.

  2. Actually......

The blue one is a Type 34 "razor's edge" 1500 Karmann Ghia. It's based on the Type 3 VW.

And that blue one from Holland is lovely. I did have a bit of a long look when I saw it yesterday.

  3. Thanks for that, old but still learning. It was a great day.

  4. You spotted our bus then. :) We spent most of the day sheltering in the Major Hangover's Jurgens. And I spent some of it sheltering under the overhang of Hayburner's roof tent, because I got caught out when it started to rain in the morning........

  5. Thanks for posting that. I almost had to rant...

"In September 1961, Volkswagen introduced the VW 1500 Karmann Ghia,[13] or Type 34, based on its new Type 3 platform, featuring Volkswagen's new flat 1500cc engine design, and styling by Italian engineer Sergio Sartorelli.[9] Due to model confusion with the Type 14 1500 introduced in 1967, the Type 34 was known variously as the "Der Große Karmann" ("the big Karmann") in Germany, "Razor Edge Ghia" in the United Kingdom, or "European Ghia" (or "Type 3 Ghia" among enthusiasts) in the United States. Today the name Type 34[13]is recognized as the worldwide naming convention"

But then I spent the afternoodle at the pub and all was sorted.
