Brazillian bay bumpers

Quite like the look of them and as I'm fitting a new deformation panel would be easy to fit any one done it.

Fixing holes in different places I believe.
Nothing a welder cant sort.

 

A new deformation panel will probably have the captive nuts for Brazilian bumpers; I had to modify mine for Euro bumpers.

 

I believe that the new deformation panel will have the holes in the correct place for the earlier style bumpers, but need re drilling if using standard late bay bumpers.

 

I don't know about fitting them, but I am quite keen on the look!

I fitted a new panel and it had the holes already there with rivnuts fitted.

The brazilian bumper bolted straight on

 

When I viewed an Austrailian T2, the owner had retrofitted Brazilian bumper and said he just modified brackets to fit the bumper to existing holes (easy to return to square bumpers) . The brazilian bumpers do soften the front (and rear) and look nice

 

Didn't @Barry Haynes have a Brazilian? Worth asking.

 

You can buy the brackets so a rear bumper can be fitted aswell .

 

I've been looking for the rear bumper brackets for a Brazilian bumper for months, they seem to be NLA everywhere??

 

Got a front one on mine but couldn't get a rear one. Originally I had a fibreglass one fitted with hole sin the correct place for German defo panel. As for the rear then i dd have one fitted but it rotted out quite quickly. Swapped it for a splitty one as that was all I could get at the time. had to make my own brackets.

As said above I had deformation panel swapped as it was goosed and a Brazilian one was fitted with holes in the right place for brazil bumper!

 

Nice... love the overriders on them. Are they early ones or specifically brazil ones?

I had to cut and reweld the mounting plates inside the bumper so they lined up.
Over riders are late ones reshaped them to fit.

What's the deal with these panels, more and more are becoming NLA (washer bottle/kick panel being my main gripe!). But Schofields etc could make replicas and sell them 10 times over!

 

The tooling required cost £1000s
Auto craft are expanding their own tooling for lots of parts but it's a lot of investment

 

@matty Iv'e got an early rear one that needs a bit of work that you can have for nowt if you want it, to see if you can weld some brackets in the right place.
Sure we can meet up somewhere in the middle
