Brake master cylinder seals??

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by Zoedanbus, Oct 14, 2019.

  1. Hey there, do any of you know where we can buy the brake master cylinder seals by any chance. Bought some years ago but can’t find any on the usual sites. The small ones inside the cylinder.

    T2, 1973, RHS. No servo.

    Cheers in advance ;)

  2. RHD that should be.

  3. Been having real issues with our brake hoses (front), the van hasn’t been on the road for a while, do these just clog up, corrode and fail internally? Have ordered new ones, but thought I’d see if you had any thoughts at all.

I have tried everything possible to clear them, but appear permanently blocked no matter what I do.

    Cheers

  4. They collapse inside, the master cylinder can force through but the fluid cant return so the brakes bind

  5. Ah that makes sense! Thank you. I couldn’t work it out for the life of me what was going on until I tracked it down to one of the hoses. Going to cut it up for closer inspection.

    Thank you.

  7. Cheers for the link. Already ordered some though. Thank you.

Anyone any ideas on the small internal seals of the master cylinder?

  8. They’ve got loads of bits and bobs. Will flag them for future reference
