Staying with my old dad for a while, he has dementia so it's ... interesting.

We're looking at old folks flats, been to the doctor for a chat, shopped for clothes...

He was complaining his sight was deteriorating, he had cataract ops a couple of years ago. So we went to the opticians. To get him to go I volunteered for a check too.

He's fine, but I now have contact lenses. Buggrit!

 

and that is why i'm going no where near an optician!

 

They mentioned I was over the limit for car insurance.

 

Wasn't you told, too much of doing it made you go blind

Best to check for hair on the palms of your hands as well...

 

I've got perfect eyesight but then I go to bed wearing boxing gloves and an eye mask

 

Asked around at our place re : grass cutting mate , no personal reccomendations I'm afraid ..

 

It's beyond that, time for sheltered housing or old folks home, just need keep putting the idea in his head until he thinks he thought of it himself instead of completely forgetting.

 

I hope you get him sorted zed no fun is it , i did six years we are all going that way i fear , hope you can cut straighter now

 

There's a sheltered estate in Lincoln I went to the other day , thought it looked lovely and I think the people that run it actually do care..

Have you tried thinking of Anne Widdecombe? That often works.

 

Cheers, ones of theirs was recommended by his GP, we're going for a look on Tuesday. It's either going to be very hard or very easy.
