Ordered a full set of plywood panels from http://sdpanels.co.uk/ I've not fitted yet, but at the price (£70 for a set of 13 panels) they look really good, lots of custom options available too. They missed out one cut I'd requested (vents in door cards) - but sent out replacements free of charge and fast - really good service. Will try to post an update once I've fitted one or two but so far I'm really pleased.
Good find! I think these will be good for the T3 as I don't want to ruin the OG upholstered panels. Like baysearcher I'll be interested to see the finished job
I trial fitted the door cards to work out where to put the screws and drilled some holes in suitable places. My plan is to varnish/stain and then screw them into place - so I opted not to have holes for the normal clips. They're a pretty good fit, a touch small if anything which leaves space for upholstery I suppose. I had to adjust the clip holes for the vent as they weren't quite straight but other than that they seem OK - quite a bit better than I'd manage with a jigsaw in the back garden, anyway! I've given both cards a few coats and they look nice, not got round to fitting yet - been doing lots of other little jobs first. Might have a go this weekend though. Below's a before and after - bare ply next to finished wood - I used Ronseal exterior woodstain (water based) in "antique pine" because it was reduced in B&Q. 3 coats with a light rub down before coats - quite time consuming but I'm well happy with the finish.
No mate, had numerous other distractions and obligations keeping me away from the bus. Will post pics as soon as I get round to it.
