Think i have made up my mind been stumbling for a while but have made up my mind now i think.. Plans are to put a 2332 engine in my 78 bay pickup dont know what i should think of other than beef up the rear with a none whooping tranny.....But all things that is important to think of would be appriciated!!! Little about the engine... The engine was earlier in my Jeans beetle with 48Idas comp ratio around 9 and a loooot of torque, this is why i think this woul be so nice in a heavier bay.... was a mid 13 runner on 1/4 mile with stock tranny in my beetle, plans if i ecide yo put in my bay is to change carbs to more modest carbs in this case dual Dellorto 40's that i have on the shelf. Pic of both engine and my pickup hopefully mixed this summer only have to pass MOT before engine swap.. ;D Dont hesitate to come with ideas good as bad!! cheers Michael
I am goin to stand back and watch with interest as the motor side of Gladys is about to start - keep us posted with parts and troubles you have please Dale
At this stage i i will not change gearbox anyhow, the original 091 box must be much stronger than a beetle box. The rpm's will not be a problem either so more concern how to avoid wheelhop have done it on my beetles but not on a bay. The fuelline should be a larger diameter around 7-8mm inside the tube there is for sure many other things to think of.. Think Holmsen is away on a weekend holiday trip..But hopefully he have some ideas what to.
Ai ai, another fast bay I'm running a 091 in both my bays, with a zf diff in Losen. At the moment my 2,4 L. has 48 idfs on it, but like you these will be changed for a pair of 40mm.s I see a silver usb sticker in the future
