  1. Just wondering if anyone else from here are going to Bestival on isle of wight this weekend? O0

  2. Hi all,

I went to Bestival this year with some friends and our kids. It was awesome. Much better than the IoW festival and better than V.

Anyone else catch Primal Scream? Stunning gig.

  3. Ah, so can I ask a question. In the absence of Glastonbury next year I'm thinking of going to Bestival.

If I was to go with my wife and a 1 1/2 year old, as well as a few mates would it be suitable, is it tight on space / enough going on etc to amuse a 1 1/2 year old?

  4. In our group there were 4 adults 2 7 to 8 year-olds and one 2.5 year old.

Not sure I'd take a 1.5 yo. There is stuff for the kids but it's small, as the festival is quite small.

Have you checked out Camp Bestival? That's more kids orientated apparently. In fact, that was the one we meant to book!

  5. Camp Bestival is meant to be great for families ...

My festival hit list for next year is :
Blissfields - Big Chill and anywhere else that books me to play

  6. Yeah, we looked at Camp Bestival but as our Glasto group usually consists of 6 adults and there will possible be 2 kids about the same age 1.5 yo that we thought we might be better going to Bestival to keep everyone happy...

  7. Bestival is such a well organised festival. New car parks seemed to be opening every day, music never seemed to stop, so no bottlenecks (unlike IOW which seemed to be designed to create them), so much space, so much to see, really varied music, very well behaved festival goers on the whole unlike chaV Festival. Only bad points in my eyes were that the big top was on an up slope, so everybody in front of you was above you, and the track to exit the site between thursday and sunday was definitely not suitable for slammed buses. On monday you left via what had been the entrance, a very steep little track. I wouldn't have wanted to do that in a bus either, but there were plenty of buses there so can't have been too big a problem.

I'd go back in a shot, but I'd prefer more bands and less DJs tbh.

  8. I left on the sunday, i think i must have left half the bottom of my bus on the dirt/mud track with the huge pot holes lol.
    Great weekend tho :)
