  1. what do people reccomend , after lookin at options ranging from aldi to halfords lol , ive come to the conclusion they are mostly the same just dif packaging and a big difference in price

  2. The best alternative is to buy a battery that works :).

  3. lol this is true . and yes i have , but i travel a lot in the bus and its always a good back up :)

  4. Leads, then anyone can help you pretty much anywhere. Or the RAC
    :)

  5. got them too and as for the RAC , they left me stranded in Norway right up in the arctic circle . lol so any constructive answers much apreciated :)

  6. They are nice to have I'm getting a machine mart one this week it's about £35 - £40 pound and has a light and and air compressor built in , they do about 20 different ones cheap basic to posh but that one seems to be good enough

I was given one once but found it a bit useless as i kept forgetting to charge it so when i needed it it was flat

  8. alot of my friends use these packs on call outs.....they moan so much about em that i recon a spare chagered battery might be more useful ,then buy seperate mini compressor for ya tyres

  9. I use a snap on for my job but a sealy one is ok

  10. Hi

FWIW, I just have one of the cheap aldi/maplins ones, got it a few years back, only about 35 quid or so, always starts the bus when i forget to turn the lights off, or have the radio on too long. I always remember to charge it after using for any length of time, compressor and light too. Always keep it in the van. Not mega powerful, spins the van engine easilly, but wont work on a diesel car.

    Cheers

  12. I have a machine mart 5-in-1 jobbie which cost about £107 inc VAT. Big bucks but you get a lot of 'Bang'. It has started 3 cars one cold crisp morning - including a 3 litre diesel on one charge and still had plenty left. It has a good worklight, compressor which will do several tyres and various USB ports etc. It's been used in the house during a power cut for several hours and my neighbours covet it!
    Useful bit of kit IMO...

In the past I've always had a split charger and a spare car battery where most people put a leisure battery.

  14. as you have said they are all pretty similar except price.
like any tool if you are using it every day then you need top notch kit
if you are using it diy/hobby style then just make sure it has a mains and 12v charger, the light / tyrre inflator on some of them is useful too.
dont forget if your jump pack is flat you can connect it to the battery of a running car to charge it, so even if you dont have leads you can get out of trouble.
