Thanks for the ideas folks. I may well replace all the worn bits first and see how that feels. It would be nice to line all the options up and get a grip of them - It needs to feel right as well!
You can go a long way to improving the shift by replacing front bush and rear couplers and giving your long-suffering gearbox some fresh oil, then setting up the stock gear lever properly. If the lever's clouting the handbrake, implies that the handbrake's coming out too far. Adjust it to the standard 6 clicks - it shouldn't stick out very far when applied. Replacement shifters? The CSP's very nice, but...the Berg's still the daddy IMHO: a superb bit of kit.
fitted an EMPI to my 72 bay , hell ! what a diff. ! from "i know it"s in there somewhere, just gotta find it " to, slick, every time ! well worth the outlay .time/money.
