a mate had his landy done - good stuff but fairly expensive.

  3. I think he is one of the best in the business , but be warned ! he's as mad as a fish

  4. Thanks, sounds like he's good, but maybe a bit far from me in Devon...

  6. No idea about rustbusters but my Aussie bay was done by before n after and he did a v good job.Waxoyl was still intact after 6 years.

  7. Thanks Skirk. They might be worth the journey up north then!

Is there a reason why you can't attempt this on yourself? will save you money and you'll get to know the underside of you bus :)

  9. I don't have the space - no garage or driveway - and by all accounts it's a really messy job which I think I'd rather pay somebody else to do properly! :)

Like blasting the underside, I'd pay someone else.

  11. If its nice underneath DB and hasn't been done before make sure you go for clear waxoyl.

  12. No reason at all as ive done it myself on a lot of vehicles

Its messy horrible and moral zapping work cleaning the bottom of a bus back treating surface corrosion and then undersealing though

  13. I'd never use underseal. I hate the stuff and I don't think it's that good. Blast it, prime it, stonechip, paint it, then waxoil it!. Oh, and get a roll over frame or spit, it's much easier.

  14. Thanks Jink, I would have automatically gone for black so thanks.

  15. The underseal i use contains waxoyl and doesent shrink or crack in a few years like tetroseal etc do

  16. Before & After are very good but Chris is a little crazy!!

You can't get his finish at home. Worth the extra!

    How very dare you! ;)

Hi Scotty. 4 year old post. Are you still a member here? Haven't seen you on lro.com for years. How did your barn conversion go?

  18. I did the job myself and hated it. It got in my hair, up my nose . . . Took it to Rustbusters in Spalding. Weird little town but not had any problems since.

I had a horrendous experience with this outfit, not with a VW, i would not go there again even if they offered to do it for free, it would still be cheaper to do it myself after i'd rectified all the misaligned body panels , replaced parts they 'lost' or dropped off the vehicle on the way home . Also it took me a month and hours of work to deep clean the mess they left it in. I'll be doing my bus myself with mainly Bilt Hamper products.

  20. True it's much cheaper to do it yourself but it's a horrible job. They seemed a pretty professional bunch to me and I've had no rust issues since going there. Useful to hear your experience though.
