  1. It's a real pain, after all the work that went into it. We hope it doesn't get any worse.

It goes like stink though, great to finally have a drive after all this time.

POR15 is moisture curing I thought? I would have hoped it would have sucked the damp out of the steel rather than trapping it. :(

  3. You and me both, my dad has emailed the company to see why this has happened as it shouldn't have.

  4. It passed, flying colours with no advisories!!

They'll ask you if you treated with metal-ready I imagine.

  6. They replied and said that we didn't dry the metal sufficiently (whatever) and that now it has dried the rust shouldn't get any worse.

The product was 'Glisten' by POR15.

  7. Had a very proud little brother turn up earlier in his all legal beetle beefing like a Cheshire cat. Lol

  9. nice bare metal body work
as for the rust i dont no think like you said trapped moisture
i bare metalled the bumpers on the bay and then laquered then the fronts still great but the rear started to rust within a few days
guess it needs to be wipped medically clean in a hot clean booth before the topcoat goes on
did mine for a bit of an experiment really i wonder if this is wot goes on under a nice fresh coat of paint on some of the restored buses ?
guess you just dont no wots laying underneath all that primer and glossy paint but at least your bro will lol!
    top work mate

  10. Thanks, I'll pass on the message. It's currently having a new carb put on as the old one had a crack in it.
