Not the type of thing id do mate as im boring when it comes to classics but And it is a big but I do think it looks like a work of art I need to get my head around the fact aircooled dubs are a passion not a vehicle Does it have a mental engine? Ive never been taken out in an aircooled with a mental engine
It was my brothers idea, it is his beetle after all, and we agreed we had never seen one like it before. Saw something similar once at bug jam but it was painted like that. Wanted something different. It has a 1641 being built up by my dad at the moment with a few special little extras. Not a mental engine but quick enough. Lowered (3 inches high) with wide wheels, got a lovely stance. My last job has been rewiring the whole thing from scratch, what a pain in the rear. Got the headlights working but I'm struggling with the indicators at the moment.
Cheers. It's taken some time and many many man hours but it is good to finally see the light at the end of the tunnel
Home built and home tuned on a budget i like it I bet it makes some mad photos in the sun whilst moving
Very Clever work their on the metal to get it looking like that. Im sure some of the high end manufacturers would like to reproduce that it gives the impression of im going to eat the road. Well done.
Stuff carbon fibre guys! when you can have this 8) looks tops mate did you use a flap wheel or brush in the grinder for that
He tried so many different techniques to remove the paint and get the right swirl effect. A lot of various tools were tried until he found the one that worked just right. But, I'm sorry to say, what he used finally will have to be a trade secret. Can't have others copying now can we.
That looks brilliant There's a late bay up the coast here in NSW which has been done in much the same way.
