ok, the time has come for me to retire my lovely original 70's drive away awning. nothing wrong with it, but it's heavy (and i can only just manage lifting the pole bag into the bus) and i wold like more space . so, my first thought was to get another drive away, poss with the option of an integral bedroom? but looking at the prices...!! Then, another camper owner on twitter suggested one of these, and i've fallen in love http://soulpad.co.uk/sanctuary/component/option,com_virtuemart/page,shop.browse/category_id,39/Itemid,1/ always wanted a tipi, and this is a good compromise, and they are v pretty and cheaper than a decent awning! but would i miss not being able to nip into the camper at the back without getting soaked? would my camper then just feel like a vehicle, and not part of the fun?? i'm rubbish at making decisions, so please help me
They look fun. This probably won't help but I hardly attach my awning to my bus. The last time I used it it was a wet weekend too but it was no problem.
i love my old awning, the way that the bus feels a part of it. but new awnings are silly money and look v flimsy compared to my old canvas one. i'm having a lift out cooker so that shouldn't be a problem... and the soulpads are just gorgeous things. although i suspect equally as heavy as my old one :/
And it has a woodburning stove so is a true all year round tent Im going to make a tunnel addition to mine so i can connect it to the van awning style
Two winters ago we had 12 people in bermuda shorts and beachware having a beach theamed cocktail party It was minus six deg 6 outside and 30 deg c inside the lavvu Ive even seen them used as saunas I have been tempted to sell it a few times as its not the best camping solution when you have a hyperactive 2 year old
Para if you come up with a tunnel solution to that Lavvu to connect it to a van you realise they will sell like hot cakes!! ;D ;D Put me down for one!!
ill get you some more pics of my computer The only thing that worries me with our two year old is burning herself on the stove because theres no flame to see or her climbing under the snow sheet and wandering off Back soon with a few more pics
i think so too, although it's a bit dark for me, i want more windows (not *just* so that i can make pretty curtains )
