  2. Yeah you were kinda right lardy thou it was the loose drive that's caused the torque converter bolts to come loose an elongate the wholes :( going to see what happens when the drive plate is bolted on properly 1st?
It's called beryl green will get the paint code for you tomorrow bud :) painted an old caravan same colour to go will look smart together :) ImageUploadedByTapatalk1378657708.639330.jpg ImageUploadedByTapatalk1378657736.089231.jpg

Isn't your green @Lardy the other end of the spectrum, this being very light and yours almost black (dark green) - still think it is black but you just want to be in the green club :)

I f those holes are not completely round they will move and crack the plate, also check the threads in the torque converter, when the plate starts to shift making the holes oval, it damages the thread, it also it makes the knocking noise like you describe in your first post , it is caused by not using thread lock on them three bolts when you first do them up,regardless of the five crank bolts, ask me how I know :( I think I may have two spares somewhere if you need one.

Just checked Willma had it, sorry.

  6. Cheers pie :) don't worry everything will be thread locked up this time :) just got off the phone to laurie petite and he said to weld a washer on the plate said he just done the same on a pressure plate :) got 1 good hole to line the others up so see how it goes?
Needs 1 hole re tapping on the torque converter but its not to bad! Caught it just in time. Think another 5 mins running would of wrecked it completely :s

Be careful with the thickness of those washers, there is not much clearance above the bolts.
I once had to drill out all three holes in a torque converter and re tap them to M10 as I recall and then use larger bolts, had to turn a bit off the top of the larger bolts as they fouled the casing, Drilled the holes out in the flex plate to remove a slight oval as well ,I had only one thread damaged but did the lot to balance it.
