Anyone......

still got their tree and decos up? When we were kids the whole lot usually stayed up til 12th night. Perhaps to make Christmas last just that little bit longer. Does anyone still do that? We took ours down yesterday and we now have a lovely uncluttered space where the tree was.....

We usually take it all down on New Years Day, but we were over at relatives so yesterday it was

 

Ours will be coming down tomorrow. Still traveling today.

 

I just wondered of anyone still did the whole 12th night thing. There’s still a couple or so houses in our road with the outside twinkly lights up but most have packed them away for the year now.

 

Ours went new years day, Mrs C usually starts getting itchy to take em down after Christmas day.

 

Ours is still up. Young kids and all that...

 

We take ours down on the traditional 6th Jan.
In Italy that night Befana comes (a witch) she sweeps away the festivities and decorations and leaves a stocking with sweets and little gifts for the good children and a lump of coal for the bad.

 

12th night

 

I was always told that it was unlucky to take thr tree down before 12th night. So ours is still up!

Took ours down yesterday, too. Place feels clean and boring, now.

 

Mrs P took ours down yesterday when I was at work. Not happy. Hmmmm

Ours were always 12th night, and by coincidence my big brothers birthday. Dad used to put the paper trimmings up on the ceiling with drawing pins. Always in the same position every year. Mom used to put the tree up on Christmas Eve after we had gone to bed. We’ve not had anything up this year.
