Get one built after 1996 & it won't be as rusty, they have a zinc plated shell. You may still have some rust on the arches but the chassis will be sound & there won't be any rot. 2.5TDi is the one to have but if it aint had a new cam belt, budget on £450 to get a new one fitted. 1.9TD is OK but avoid the pre 96 models as they have 1.9 D & 2.4D engines, there are a few 1.9TD's out there in pre 96 but not many.
