Anyone else using Firefox?

  1. I've just updated Mozilla Firefox to version 6.0 and really wished i hadn't.
    Its just sooooo slow.

Whats the point in an update that makes its slower and locks up more easily? ???
Diddymans thread on his resto now takes 2 or 3 minutes to open each page. With version 5 of firefox i could pretty much scroll down the page as fast as i could and it'd fill the piccies in as i went. Now my laptop just hangs until they are all open. :(

when someone said a few days ago that i was struggling to view pictures without scrolling across due to using internet explorer and i should use a different browser i installed that firefox one, it is cack, i installed google chrome instead that was good, but habit keeps me using i.e..... so yes i agree although no i'm not using it

  3. i use firefox on the work pc and safari at home - no issues with either

  4. I use all 3, (IE, Firefox and Chrime), for different things as some work better with certain scripts than others but overall I always revert back to using IE9 as it just works...No fuss, bother or errors, it just 'does'.

  5. I know what you mean, its a real pain  :(

I generally only use firefox for photobucket uploading now whilst I using IE or chrome for browsing......they dont seem much better .....I thought it was just my PC

  6. We've got Firefox on the netbook and I have it on my laptop as well .. not noticed any problems. I have to occasionally use Internet Explorer (HMRC website is not so keen on Firefox at times!) and that is always slow.

Is your broadband working at a sensible speed?

  7. I said no to the update because I'd heard it was slow/buggy, but it appears to have ignored my decline!

  8. i use firefox and did the upgrade, didn't notice the difference but my internet is about as fast as using a bit of string and 2 bean tins

  9. It just did a mini update of itself and now runs a little faster.
Switching off the 'Use hardware acceleration when available' bit under Tools>Options>Advanced>General seems to have made a difference too.
Still not as fast a version 5 but faster than it was.

Can't say I've been over impressed with the latest version.
I'm sticking to Chrome or I.E. at the moment.

  11. hi ya peps....use both and have no problems...both are quick .....maybe theres background software thats running or firewall things to consider....i uninstall all toolbar things and always go to uninstall progs before i use any of these browsers as they normally come with ask toolbars etc etc .....
    peace out peps
