Bought this today as a bit of a hobby doer upper. The guy had never owned a VW camper before and lost faith after numerous attempts to fill the water system without getting a airlock and the touchy nature of badly maintained dubs. I drove it home as sweet as a nut. No water issues whatsoever, it pulled like a train and drove in a very straight line. There is a couple of month's MOT left on it and I have a bit of work to refresh it, but it should be a very tidy example of a T3 camper again very soon. He couldn't move the seat back. I pulled the handle and it moved. Rubbish seats ( too high) I am after some OG'S now. It's a 2,1 petrol. It needs a bit of welding to the sills and drivers side step and a good clean. I am pleased with it.
Looks nice van. If the previous owner messed about with the water system I would drain it and make sure you use the correct coolant and the correct mixture. This is vital to avoid internal corrosion which kills off these engines. Sign up to the club8090 forum for T25's, lots of help on there for you.
Cheers Dunc. I took it up the road and bled the airlock out after I bought it. I never said much when he was doing it down and telling me how it was the straw that broke the camels back. On the up side, he has had new heads a new rad, new fan switch and filler caps to try and cure it. I just let it get hot- ish and bled the air out. It cooled own right away and was superb coming home. I hope he doesn't read this.
Been on there longer than here. I restored one before my last bay. This one came from Wales too. When I got her.. Just before I sold her.
I haven't gone through the massive box of bits or the looked at the huge awning it came with either yet. Or refitted the fridge he had stored as he couldn't work it out.
My son has an early air cooled T25 Devon. I was going to buy a T25 Autosleeper Trident for myself but went for my tintop Bay instead. T2, T25 they all need looking after.
I have just counted up and I have had 8 campers A split screen I bought and sold as a kid in about 78, around the time I bought my first Danbury bay. Then a Devon immediately after selling my Danbury in 87 ish. Then a bongo, a t25 and another bay ( a Westy that became a topic of fun on here) a LT50 Woodlander which I still own as my main camper and now this one, another T25. I have also owned two bugs, one of which is still here on the drive, and a t2 doka briefly.

Yes it is the same van. I bought it because I got it cheap and had just sold my little holiday house in Looe. When I finished her my family admitted she was nice, but as we had always had bays. they asked me to sell her and get a bay. I truly wished I had kept her and never bought the Westy sometimes, but then I wouldn't have found this place in its infancy and made so many good friends. Every cloud n al that eh.
I did have you tagged as buying a T5 , I am glad you bought something older... I was sick of my temp creeping past 3/4 so I took the thermostat out ,I also treated myself to the stainless steel long pipes a good investement in my eyes... because they are on the hefty side the temp still creeps up the mountains but i have a switch for the fan... i have a tidy dash as well ,but there's nothing tidy about it... 2.1 bet it goes like stink....
It does go well mate. Mgman has me thinking about the mix in the water system now. Have you ever drained and refilled one?
i changed the big water pipes... I just put normal anti-freeze in it ,don't worry you have till winter.... I did bleed it from the radiator end ,the highest point of the engine decided not to play ball....
Very nice my first van was a 2.1 inj T25 and I liked it a lot. Only bummer was knocking your knuckles on the dash putting it into 2nd (when I was racing folk off the lights).
