I now have 4-5 inches of space, I cut the cupboard down 'cos I couldn't work the handle properly from inside.
Yep. The later ones just had a narrow cupboard. I'd forgotten it blocks the door handle if it's too close.
The door handle has to go on upside down beside my cooker. Theres even an offset spindle version of the handle in NLA land that helps by allowing the inverted handle to go forward on doors that need the outside handle raised to latch the back end.
