Alternator brush swap?

  1. Give 'em a good scrub or, if you're keen, clean and recrimp new connectors on the cable ends. Worth giving your engine earth strap a good de-lousing as well.

  2. Yeah did clean them up when bringing it back to life but lot more work including paint underseals etc etc so will certainly add them to list of jobs.
    Just glad dont have to pull alternator,

    Had our first night away Sunday and took spare battery; )

  3. Sounds like you're ok. 13.6V is a bit on the low side, but will charge your battery ok. Depends on the reg. I've seen some that do about 13.5V, some that regulate to 14V.

    At least you've been spared taking the alt out, which is a right pain on a type 1.
