  1. Has anyone had dealings with Ahnendorp for parts? Seem to stock some decent OE parts.

They stock some excellent parts and have a very good reputation. They are also very expensive.

  3. Looking at 2.0 Mahle pistons & barrels. Do you think they are likely to be of German origin or more likely Chinese?

There is nothing special about Mahle B&Ps these days. And I wouldn’t use Mahle pistons when there are alternatives as good or better far cheaper. And don’t discount Chinese parts, choose carefully and they can be very good.

Incidentally I was going to buy my valves and pushrods from Ahnendorp but they have increased their prices so much in the last few months that I’m now going to get them from the almost as expensive CSP.

  6. Cast iron pistons ?

Talk to Jim at Stateside, he’ll have KB pistons and good quality cylinders.

I hope Ahnendorp don’t really mean those pistons are cast iron.

  9. Yes will have a chat with Jim. Noticed Heritage have the Mahle ones at £280 made in South America,me thinks Brazil. As you say probably nothing in it between Mahle and AA. You gets what you pay for. Original German B&Ps seem to be long gone.
