Of all the bits I've done on the van that sill was by far the most horrid job. Have fun!

  6. Yeah mines out but the end of the sills are buggered so need to get those in to meet up with everything else .. does the top hat fit right up against the back of the seat backs or is there a gap? Seems to bring the outriggers to far forward if I push the middle section and top hat up..

Yeap it's all the way forward. There is a lip on the walkthrough that gets tacked to it. Then the bulkheads sits on the front lip of the tophat.

  10. Another quick one.. what did you use on you chassis rails? Did you use a rust convertor or just grind to good metal and rust proof?

Will dig some pictures out for you of the tophat etc. I had the whole underside of ours shot blasted. I then zinc primed it all straight after to hold the surface rust away. When I finished the underside it all got a few coats of epoxy.

  12. I'd love to get it shot blasted but worry at the moment it'll take the last of the metal out as I'm working my way back

Cheers for the pics though when you get a sec

Saved me a lot of work not having to strip the chassis of paint to.

  14. I into a knotted wheel to try and tickle my way through.. they welded fkin great 4 or 5 mm plate over rusty stone pans and used a spool of mig wire to do it.. chopping them out so I can get to the rails has meant holes in the bottom of the rails so I'm patching them as I go towards the back

@Adam Benjamin , found a few pictures for you.

Here's the top hat pushed up against the lip that folds down from the walkthrough.

Front of top hat is inline with the front of the floor.

The bulkhead then extends down to meet that lip at the front of the top hat:

Hope that helps fella, let me know if you need any further pics. Got hundreds of 'em!

Driver’s cab floor all welded in. Just need to dress the welds and reattach the step to it.

  18. Did you have to cut down your top hat to fit? Mine seems too wide but couldn't find a different one for the middles and fronts?

  20. Cool thought I'd bought the wrong one .. my Sills are fubar'd so got to chop them out now.. from a reference point I'm starting to loose it cos my B pillar is crap and it's missing the metal around the toe hole area.. plus I've had to chop the lip I think you meant that tags to the tophat.. is it best to get the top hat outriggers and jack points on and then do the sills or do the sills and then meet the out riggers etc up to them?
