All, I have usually just got my bus serviced locally but decided to get my hands mucky and do it myself this year. Used to do it on my beetle just fell out of the habit. So am going to change the oil, oil filter and air filter. No need to do the points as its electronic ignition. Just wondering what others would add to the list - any areas I should be getting the grease gun on etc. Only put 2500 miles on her since the last service. Cheers, Jon
It's a good idea to check the valve clearences. They may be fine and if they are you can relax about your top end. If any need more than a nads adjustment, make a note and monitor next time. Looase is no problem, but if they are tightening as you drive something is amiss.
