What's up with my bass man?

I have this sub and amp in my T4

It works fine when stereo is first switched on in the morning, then stops working after about a minute. The lights stay on though.

On checking the power supply in the van, both the main yellow live, and the blue remote live have 12v when not plugged in to the amp, but when plugged in, the yellow voltage drops to 5.3v.. is that normal?

I have tried staring at it, and looking for any popped caps to no avail. No loose connections anywhere, and kicking it doesn't help.. anyone got any ideas?

If the yellow is power in then you have a rotten DC connection between the amp and battery.. a fuse that has got hot and oxidized for instance.

Go back along the wiring with the power off, one end of ohm meter on yellow wire. Where the resistance is more than 1 ohm back to the amplifier yellow connection you will have found the problem...

    10 points to Mike.

There was a manky fuse holder hiding behind the battery. New one fitted and bass is restored.
