Been on the road now for a couple of years, been used and abused but love it. Looks better in photos than the flesh. Wife politely refused to go to wikes and garden centre the other day, said it's not very nice to travel in, taking a step back and thinking about it she's right So, first thing sort the cab and seats out, they have long since lost any padding and are ripped and broken. Must admit I was fed up getting stabbed it the thigh with that, Welded it and a broken spring , feels better already! This old horse dust is useless, hoping there's a better modern alternative? Bought some new vinyl and getting the sewing machine out to give it a go, following Carl's instructions ish! Door cards are original and tatty so ripped the covers off them too That's it so far, thinking of respraying it back to original blue/ white bumpers as was always my intention?
Good luck!! We changed to Porsche seats, so have no experience with the replacement horse hair kits, however they can't be that bad?
Nice, I like them a lot!! I've got a pair of Porsche seats if you fancy having a go recovering them? Plenty of places that do the horse hair pads, try DB Cartrim, I remember them having a clearance page for seat covers too.
Carpeted the cab Made a start on recovering the seats, Quite enjoying having a go at this, the domestic machine is coping well with the vinyl.
Getting there Double passenger was harder but happy with result Done the drivers door card now just passenger to do
Say good bye to the pickup as we know it It's in for cosmetic surgery today Screen rubber is only a couple of years old so I got that out undamaged in about 10 mins Thought I best give Schofields a quick ring to check they had rear cab screen rubber before I took the Stanley to that one though, it was original and had an edge of many badly masked colours Hope it's a nice warm dry day tomorrow
